(15 October 2018) The Mongol Securities Exchange (MSX), a privately owned stock exchange in Mongolia, has made a public commitment to promoting sustainable and transparent capital markets in their country by partnering with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative. MSX is the second Mongolian stock exchange to partner with the SSE.
(22 October 2018) The Quito Stock Exchange joined the Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative by signing a commitment letter to promote sustainable and transparent capital markets. The SSE initiative was launched by then Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, in 2009, and is organized by UNCTAD, the UN Global Compact, UNEP-FI and the PRI.
(17 December 2018) Saudi Arabia’s stock exchange, Tadawul, announced its voluntary commitment to promoting sustainable and transparent capital markets in becoming a United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative Partner Stock Exchange. Tadawul is the sole stock exchange in Saudi Arabia and lists over $500bn in market capitalization.
(11 January 2019) Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE), the second largest stock exchange in Central and Eastern Europe by market capitalization and liquidity, signed a commitment to promote sustainability and transparency in its market, making it the newest member of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative.
(16 January 2019) Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) announced that it is now a Partner Exchange of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative. Joining the SSE is a voluntary commitment made by the exchange to promote sustainability and transparency in capital markets.
(07 February 2019) The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), the twelfth largest market exchange in the world by market capitalization, signed a commitment to promote sustainability and transparency in its market, making it the newest member of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative.
2 April 2019 – Moscow Exchange (MOEX) announced today it has become the latest Partner Exchange of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative, joining other securities exchanges in a commitment to elevating sustainability practices.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) committed to promoting sustainability in its capital market, becoming a member of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative.
(2 May 2019) The Macedonian Stock Exchange announced its commitment to strengthening corporate governance practices, making positive changes to corporate culture and to increasing transparency in its market as an SSE Partner Exchange.
The Somali Stock Exchange has solidified its commitment to the transparency and sustainability of Somalia’s growing economy as a member of the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange. The SSE’s newest member joins a network of now 90 stock exchanges around the world that are committed to sustainable development through transparent capital markets that align with sustainable development objectives.
