Exchange in Focus: Macedonian Stock Exchanges announces commitment to positively change corporate culture

(2 May 2019) The Macedonian Stock Exchange announced its commitment to strengthening corporate governance practices, making positive changes to corporate culture and to increasing transparency in its market as an SSE Partner Exchange.

“We are delighted to be welcomed by a global community of securities exchanges in this UN partnership program. The collaboration with the SSE initiative will contribute towards our exchange’s commitment to promote the sustainability and transparency of capital markets, to strengthen corporate governance practice and to make positive changes in corporate culture of our issuers,” said Mr. Ivan Shteriev, CEO of the Macedonian Stock Exchange.

“We believe that this partnership will help our exchange to be recognized as a market place that offers fund raising possibilities for listed companies including SMEs  and to act as a facilitator of long-term economic growth,” Mr. Shteriev said.

The Macedonian Stock Exchange is the principal stock exchange in the Republic of North Macedonia. It is located in the capital city of Skopje and its name is abbreviated to MSE. It was established in 1995 and the first trading occurred in 1996.
