CCWX

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) has launched Canada Climate Week Xchange (CCWX), a new five-year initiative aimed at fostering national collaboration on climate-related challenges and opportunities. Announced during the World Federation of Exchanges’ “Ring the Bell for Climate” event, CCWX reflects TSX’s commitment to addressing the climate crisis through the power of financial markets.

Uniting Diverse Voices for Climate Action

CCWX seeks to bring together a broad coalition of stakeholders including government, industry, Indigenous communities, and civil society to support Canada’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The initiative is built on the belief that collective action is essential to creating a resilient and low-carbon economy.

Launched through a unique partnership among TSX and key climate and sustainability leaders including the Canada Climate Law Initiative (CCLI), CPA Canada, the First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB), GLOBE, and the Responsible Investment Association (RIA) - CCWX embodies a shared commitment to innovative, inclusive, and actionable climate solutions.

The Role of Exchanges in Climate Progress

Representatives from the founding organizations emphasized the critical role of Canada’s financial sector in enabling effective climate response. As a central marketplace for capital, TSX is uniquely positioned to support market participants in navigating climate-related risks and opportunities.

“Successful climate action will require sustained collaboration between organizations across the country, including Canadian listed companies. Toronto Stock Exchange is delighted to work with our founding members to ensure a diversity of voices is represented to drive effective climate action,” said Eliza Riego, Managing Director, Product Innovation and ESG Strategy at TSX.
