SSE launches Climate Disclosure work with Mark Carney and LSEG

The United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative is launching a new workstream to support exchanges in providing guidance to issuers on climate disclosure. The SSE’s Partner Exchanges and key stakeholders are invited to participate in the SSE’s Advisory Group on Climate Disclosure.

SSE participated in the Sustainable Seafood Sprint organized by the UN Global Compact on 2 December. Finance has a key role to play in driving the sustainable development of the seafood industry, both through unlocking capital towards sustainable projects, as well as acting as “gatekeepers” to redirect existing investments towards sustainability.

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) welcomes the first listed Social Bonds in South Africa to its Sustainability Segment. The four social bonds valued at R609 million are listed by TUHF Limited (“TUHF”) in partnership with Standard Bank through a securitisation vehicle, Urban Ubomi 1 (RF) Limited.

UN SSE joins with Latinex to ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’

The UN SSE initiative presented its recent report on gender equality on the corporate boards in Latin America as part of the Panamanian exchange Latinex’ annual event to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD). As part of the global event ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’, Latinex is holding its 6th annual bell ringing ceremony on IWD to raise awareness for gender equality.

Abu Dhabi, 18 October 2023 - The United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative launched the SSE Academic Working Group at the UNCTAD World Investment Forum with eleven founding members from academic institutions in six countries from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.
