Find out in these new SSE benchmarking reports. The SSE in collaboration with IFC (a member of the World Bank Group) and UN Women, have released four new Market Monitors providing new data on gender equality. The launch included three benchmark Market Monitors analysing gender equality in corporate leadership and a Market Monitor analyzing stock exchange guidance on gender equality metrics. These reports form part of the SSE’s ongoing initiatives to support achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 on gender equality.

The UN SSE together with our global partners, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the UN Global Compact, UN Women and the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), would like to invite all exchanges to participate in the 11th annual “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” campaign for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2025. This global initiative by exchanges around the world aims to foster gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community, and promote the benefits of doing so. The Ring the Bell theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is “Ring the Bell for ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.
2025 (Inaugural) Ring the Bell for LGBTIQ+ Equality

The UN SSE, alongside the UN Global Compact, UN Human Rights (OHCHR), Koppa - The LGBTI+ Economic Power Lab and the Partnership for Global LGBTIQ+ Equality are inviting your exchange to participate in the 2025 Ring the Bell for LGBTIQ+ Equality, a global initiative to promote awareness and solidarity for LGBTIQ+ people. Scheduled as in-person or virtual bell-ringing ceremonies at participating stock exchanges between 14-23 May 2025 to mark the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, the initiative aims to galvanise support from stock exchanges, businesses and LGBTIQ+ organisations worldwide to advance LGBTIQ+ equality, inclusion and human rights.

Nasdaq Dubai Welcomes The Middle East’s First USD 100 Million Blue Bond Listing By DP World
30 January 2025
Nasdaq Dubai welcomed Middle East and North Africa’s first corporate Blue Bond listing, of a USD 100 million bond by DP World, a leading provider of global end-to-end supply chain solutions. Issued under DP World’s USD 10 billion Global Medium-Term Note Programme, the bond carries a 5.250% coupon rate and matures in 2029.

European Union: The EBA Publishes Its Final Guidelines On The Management Of ESG Risks

The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published its final Guidelines on the management of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks. The Guidelines set out requirements for institutions for the identification, measurement, management and monitoring of ESG risks, including through plans aimed at ensuring their resilience in the short, medium and long term.
Securities Commission Malaysia Release National Sustainability Reporting Framework Guidance To Help Companies’ Board Of Directors Drive Sustainability Reporting

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) today released a simplified guide, ‘Navigating the Transition: A Guide for Boards’ (Board Guide) to support board of directors of companies in adopting the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF). Launched in September last year, the NSRF is a significant step in advancing Malaysia’s corporate sustainability agenda. Listed issuers on Bursa Malaysia’s Main and ACE Markets, as well as large non-listed companies (NLCos) with annual revenue of RM2 billion and above are expected to comply with the new reporting requirements in a phased approach. The NSRF addresses the use of the IFRS® Sustainability Disclosure Standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), including IFRS S1 and IFRS S2.
Partnership to advance ESG integration in African capital markets

GRI Africa has strengthened ties with regional stock exchanges through a partnership with the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA), advancing sustainability disclosure practices across the continent’s capital markets. This initiative involved a series of local events, training workshops and the development of ESG reporting guidelines.
