On February 12 2019 the Japan Exchange Group (JPX), an SSE initiative partner exchange since 2017, partnered with Japan’s Financial Services Agency (JFSA) to host a symposium on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), entitled “The Power of the TCFD Framework in Company-Investor Dialogue”.
(17 May 2019) The National Stock Exchange of Costa Rica and the Asociación Costa Rica por Siempre organized the First Responsible Investment Workshop, which was held on May 17, 2019.
(18 July 2019) The Santiago Exchange and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, SSE Partner Exchanges since 2014 and 2016 respectively, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement to facilitate the cross listing and trading of financial securities in both markets.
(11 September 2019) The Panama Stock Exchange (BVP) has listed its first green bond, issued by CIFI, a financial institution in Latin America specializing in infrastructure and energy financing. The proceeds of the green bond will go towards green projects including: wind power, hydroelectric generation, solar power, geothermic and waste management.
(September 2019) The National Stock Exchange of Costa Rica (BNV) received the “Green Award”, a recognition for outstanding use of renewable energy. The Stock Exchange is the first in Central America to receive this recognition, representing one more effort that Costa Rica makes to promote sustainable practices in companies.
(September 2019) The Panama Stock Exchange (BVP) held its XX Investor Forum, an annual event aimed at sharing innovations in the financial market of Panamá and its region. Sustainability was at the center of this year’s edition. The Forum traditionally attracts many participants, with a record of 700 for this year.
