FRA Launches the Regional Center for Sustainable Finance

Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has announced the launching of a new think-tank and training center, “the Regional Center for Sustainable Finance (RCSF)”. The RCSF has been established in recognition of the urgency to bridge the finance gap to fulfill the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. 

SSE contributes to COP27 discussion on a global comprehensive reporting system

As part of the UN SSE’s COP27 activities in Sharm al Sheik, Egypt, SSE Academy Head Tiffany Grabski participated in a panel discussion on developing “A Global Comprehensive Reporting System.” Bringing together representatives of the private sector, standard setters and stock exchanges, Ms. Grabski highlighted the key role that capacity building plays in advancing this work. 

Stock exchanges welcome new ISSB Standards; UN SSE announces related capacity building activities

The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) this week launched two inaugural sustainability disclosure standards to meet the information needs of capital market participants, one focused on general disclosure requirements and one focused on climate-related disclosures. Stock exchanges are holding launch events around the world to introduce their markets to these new standards.

Abu Dhabi, 18 October 2023 - The United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative launched the SSE Academic Working Group at the UNCTAD World Investment Forum with eleven founding members from academic institutions in six countries from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

COP28: SSE Contributes to Oxford Master Class on Governing a Transition to Net Zero

SSE Academy Head Dr. Tiffany Grabski was invited to present at the Oxford Net Zero Master Class on Net Zero Policy and Regulation. Dr. Grabski spoke about the role of capital markets in building capacity to facilitate the transition to a zero-emissions economy, highlighting the importance of convergence of standards with built-in flexibility for local adaptation.
