UN SSE joins Global Capacity Building Coalition

The United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (UN SSE) initiative has officially joined the Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC), marking a significant step in its commitment to advancing climate finance in emerging and developing economies. Launched alongside COP28, the GCBC’s goal is to increase the availability and effectiveness of climate finance technical assistance programs for financial institutions in emerging markets and developing economies.

UN SSE Q3 Call - ESRS and CSRS: Update for Exchanges globally

Nasdaq Dubai Welcomes USD 400 Million Green Bond From Bank Of China

Nasdaq Dubai welcomed USD 400 million Green Bonds by the Bank of China (Dubai Branch), one of China’s four biggest state-owned commercial banks. This significant issuance, due 2027, is rated “A” by S&P Global Ratings and is part of Bank of China’s USD 40 billion Medium Term Note Programme.

In line with the Thai government's policy statement to parliament today which outlines plans to promote a green economy, achieve carbon neutrality, and establish Thailand as ASEAN's leader in carbon dioxide emission reduction, as well as positioning the country as ASEAN's hub for carbon credit trading through the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the Thai bourse recognizes the crucial role of building a comprehensive green economy ecosystem in collaboration with public and private sector partners to facilitate Thailand's transition to a low-carbon society.

Luxembourg - LuxSE And CEB Mark EUR 10bn Of Social Inclusion Bonds

The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) celebrated a crucial milestone in the bank’s pioneering contribution to creating social impact through sustainable finance. With the social development bank’s latest Social Inclusion Bond issuance in April this year, its largest ever syndicated Social Inclusion Bond of EUR 1.25bn, the CEB has raised a total of more than EUR 10bn through its Social Inclusion Bonds since 2017.

New Zealand Financial Markets Authority Publishes Ethical Investing Disclosure Insights Update

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko – has today published insights from its supervision of funds that claim to have ethical features. The insights are based off findings from reviewing disclosure documents, advertising, reporting on sustainability progress, and whether investments held by funds align with their sector exclusion policies.

Australia - ASIC Urges Businesses To Prepare For Mandatory Climate Reporting

From 1 January 2025, many large Australian businesses and financial institutions will need to prepare annual sustainability reports containing mandatory climate-related financial disclosures, following the passage of a major bill through Parliament.

Securities Commission Malaysia: National Sustainability Reporting Framework To Enhance Sustainability Disclosures

The National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF), developed by the Advisory Committee on Sustainability Reporting (ACSR)1, is set to enhance the state of sustainability disclosures in Malaysia. The NSRF addresses the use of the IFRS® Sustainability Disclosure Standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) as the baseline for companies in Malaysia.

BME: IBEX® ESG Reaches 49 Components In Its First Review

The Technical Advisory Committee has decided to add seven new companies to the IBEX® ESG index, as well as the exit of four, as they are no longer part of the selection universe (IBEX 35® or IBEX® Medium Cap), so the index has increased from 46 to 49 components.

MSCI drops ESG from indices to align with UK and EU fund naming rules
23 September 2024
MSCI is renaming over 100 ESG indices to align with incoming sustainability product naming rules in Europe and the UK. The indices – which include the MSCI World ESG Screened index, the MSCI Europe ESG Screened index and the MSCI USA ESG Screened index – will drop ESG from their titles following the outcome of a recent consultation. The move comes after the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) updated its guidelines on ESG fund naming rules last month, setting a November deadline.

FTSE Russell Launches Fixed Income TPI Index And TPI Focused Glidepath Index
