Exchange in Focus: Latinex Group launches First Sustainability Report and Strategy

2 June 2022

Latinex Holdings, Inc., and its subsidiaries, Latin American Stock Exchange (Latinex) and Latin American Clearing and Settlement (Latinclear), have launched their first sustainability report and strategy. The report available in Spanish (Reporte de Sostenibilidad 2021) contains information regarding the group’s environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) management and performance, during the year 2021. The report is an integral part of the group's efforts to address sustainability from the business side, integrating ESG factors into decision-making and engagement with external stakeholders. Shaping the group's sustainability strategy for the 2022-2024 period, five strategic priorities and their respective objectives have been established. These will allow the group to guide its sustainability actions for the coming years. Latinex Group stated that sustainability is an important pillar in its strategy. That is why the group is committed to be promoters of sustainable finance, seeking to continue facilitating access to financing for climate and social solutions, making a base of potential investors available to issuers, thus contributing towards the country’s inclusive economic growth, which can promote progress and foster the creation of jobs. This first Sustainability Report applies the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), positioning Latinex Group at the forefront of reports at the local and international level and becoming the second stock exchange in Latin America with a sustainability report under SASB standards. The exchange points out that the GRI standards respond to socio-environmental materiality and are intended for a broad audience, and the SASB standards address financial materiality and respond to the information requirements of investors and other capital providers. Latinex Group invites more organizations to follow similar strategies and actions, which it sees as essential for the sustainable development of its market and the world.
