Workshop Details

To support capital market participants in understanding how smaller companies or those with limited capacity or experience can begin integrating sustainability into their business practices, this pilot training was developed by the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative in collaboration with partners including the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The training introduces a practical framework designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and companies with limited expertise on sustainability-related topics to help them start integrating sustainability into governance, strategy, operations and disclosures.

The workshop provides participants with practical guidance and tools to understand the drivers of sustainability integration, identify key sustainability-related risks and opportunities, and begin communicating sustainability-related information effectively.

Two identical sessions will be offered to accommodate participants in different time zones:

  • Session 1: 26 March 2026 | 09:00 – 11:00 CET

  • Session 2: 26 March 2026 | 16:00 – 18:00 CET

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand why sustainability is increasingly relevant for SMEs and all capital market participants

  • Identify practical steps smaller companies can take to begin integrating sustainability into governance and strategy

  • Understand how sustainability considerations can be embedded into business practices and risk management

  • Learn how to communicate sustainability-related information efficiently using existing data and disclosure frameworks

Who Should Attend?

This pilot is open only to employees of UN SSE Partner Exchanges, SSE Official Supporters, and other partners that have been invited by the SSE or IFC.

This pilot is being offered ahead of rollout of the training with SSE Partner Exchanges. It will provide exchanges with the opportunity to build their understanding of this topic before hosting the training in their markets, and for exchanges and wider stakeholders to contribute their feedback in order to inform the global rollout of the training.

Participants will receive a certificate of appreciation for taking part in the training and providing feedback. PLEASE NOTE - this workshop is NOT CPD Certified.

Market participants wishing to join a training workshop should subscribe to the SSE mailing list to receive updates about future sessions upon rollout of the programme globally in 2026.
