About the event

During New York Climate Week, the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative and S&P Global Energy will convene members of the SSE Expert Group on Commodity Markets and the Energy Transition for an in-person discussion on the evolving role of commodity markets in supporting the global energy transition.

As the transition to a low-carbon economy reshapes global commodity and energy markets, exchanges, market participants and policymakers face both new opportunities and complex challenges. This meeting will bring together experts from across financial markets, industry and international organizations to exchange perspectives on emerging trends, share practical insights and explore how commodity markets can support decarbonization, energy security and sustainable finance. Discussions will cover topics including critical minerals, market transparency, sustainable finance and the evolving role of commodity markets in enabling the transition to a more resilient and sustainable global economy.
