Overview of training content

The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has developed a set of recommendations and guidance to help organizations assess, report and act on their nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities. Published in September 2023, the TNFD recommendations provide a set of general recommended disclosures structured around four pillars: governance, strategy, risk and impact management, and metrics and targets. They build on the approach pioneered by the TCFD, extending it beyond climate to nature and biodiversity.

This workshop introduces participants to the TNFD recommendations and guidance and highlights practical tools to begin assessing nature-related issues and preparing TNFD-aligned disclosures. This training programme is designed to build participants’ understanding of nature-related financial disclosures and provide an entry point to applying the TNFD recommendations and guidance in practice.

The workshop will take participants through four modules aimed to building expertise and experience on understanding the nature context, being familiar with the frameworks and guidance available on managing and disclosing on nature, updating practices and risk management processes, and finally updating public communications in alignment with the TNFD recommendations.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand why nature is relevant for your organisation
  • Identify what resources are available to manage & disclose nature-related issues
  • Understand how to identify, assess and manage nature-related issues
  • Understand who requires this information and how to best integrate into public disclosures
