Spanish MG announcement

The United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (UN SSE) initiative, together with the Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsas (FIAB) and in partnership with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), is pleased to announce that the Model Guidance on Nature-related Financial Disclosures is now available in Spanish.

First launched in October 2025 at the Building Bridges conference in Geneva, the Model Guidance provides stock exchanges and their issuers with a practical toolkit for identifying, assessing, and disclosing nature-related risks and opportunities. The new Spanish edition, produced through the UN SSE's ongoing collaboration with FIAB, makes this resource accessible to exchanges, listed companies, and capital market participants across the Ibero-American region, where demand for clear and comparable nature-related information continues to grow.

The Spanish edition was developed with translation support from FIAB, whose Secretary General contributed a foreword to the translated guidance.

"At the Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsas (FIAB), we are pleased to make this guidance available in Spanish for the Ibero-American community, as part of our commitment to strengthening capacity and to promoting markets that are more transparent, resilient, and prepared to integrate nature-related considerations into financial decision-making. We are confident that this resource will help foster a deeper understanding of the risks and opportunities associated with nature, and strengthen the role of capital markets in the transition towards a more sustainable economy." — Christian Khatchikian, Secretary General, Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsas (FIAB)

Bringing nature-related guidance and training to Spanish-speaking markets

Beyond the guidance itself, FIAB has also worked with the UN SSE to translate the accompanying SSE Academy training materials on nature-related financial disclosures into Spanish, ensuring that exchanges and issuers across the region can build practical capacity in their own language. FIAB will host the first Spanish-language workshop on the topic on 1 July 2026. Delivered online and conducted entirely in Spanish, the half-day session will be facilitated by experts from the TNFD, UN SSE and UNDP, with guest speakers from S&P Global. Participants who complete it will receive a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate.

"Making this guidance available in Spanish is an important step, but what truly builds market capacity is putting it into practice. Through our long-standing partnership with FIAB, we are now able to offer our full training workshop with tools and resources for the Spanish-speaking markets we work with. This is exactly the kind of regional collaboration that allows the SSE Academy to meet markets where they are and equip them with the skills to understand and act on their dependencies and impacts on nature. We applaud FIAB for their leadership and commitment to building capacity in the region that supports sustainable and transparent capital markets" — Tiffany Grabski, SSE Academy Head

The Spanish edition is part of the broader SSE Academy training programme on nature-related financial disclosures, developed in partnership with the TNFD. The SSE Academy, working with SSE Partner Stock Exchanges, has trained over 55,000 market participants to date.
