Who Should Attend

This workshop is relevant for the employees and leadership of SMEs or at companies that are just starting to integrate sustainability into business decision-making.

The workshop is not only relevant to listed companies themselves. As sustainability disclosure requirements expand globally, large listed companies face growing pressure to understand and report on sustainability-related information from across their value chains. Listed companies are therefore encouraged to share this workshop with their supply chain and encourage participation throughout the supply chain.

Workshop Agenda

A 90-minute structured workshop with live Q&A and audience participation. Live Q&A runs throughout all modules

Key Messages & Talking Points

Use these messages as the foundation for all your communications. They are written to resonate with SMEs and beginners for sustainability — the people who need to be in the room.

Messaging note: A common mistake in invitations like this is to address only listed companies. Sustainability-related information is increasingly needed not just from large listed companies. As large listed companies enhance their disclosures they require more sustainability-related information from their supply chain. Your messaging should reflect this clearly and should encourage all companies to share the invite with their supply chain.

Why Now

Listed companies face growing pressure from investors, regulators and their clients to disclose sustainability data across their entire value chain. They need information from you. This workshop will give you the knowledge and tools to respond to those requests with confidence.

This is for you!

You do not need to be a sustainability expert to attend. This workshop was built specifically for companies at the very beginning of their journey. Whether you have never thought about sustainability reporting or have just started to receive questions from customers, this session is designed for you.

Practical, Not Academic

In 120 minutes, you will leave with practical tools, a clearer picture of your sustainability risks and opportunities, and a better understanding of what your listed company customers are actually asking for. No jargon. No prior knowledge required.

Your exchange is here to help

[Exchange Name] is sharing this workshop because we want every company connected to our market — including every supplier of our listed companies — to have access to the tools they need to participate in a sustainable economy. This is free, practical, and directly relevant to your business.

Subject: Free sustainability workshop for you and your suppliers — please share widely

Dear [Name],

As a company listed on [Exchange Name], you face growing expectations from investors and regulators to report on sustainability-related risks and opportunities across your supply chain — not just your own operations.

Getting Started on Sustainability: An Intro for SMEs and Beginners
  • Facilitated by the United Nations SSE initiative and the Ethical Supply Chain Program

We are asking you to share this invitation with:
  • All your staff - this is an opportunity for the whole organization to understand the basics of how sustainability can make your company more profitable, resilient and prepared for future market, regulatory and consumer shifts
  • Every current supplier in your supply chain
  • Any prospective suppliers you are in conversation with
The more suppliers that attend, the better positioned you will be to collect the sustainability-related data you need to fulfil your own reporting obligations.
