NYSE Becomes SSE Partner Exchange

On 24 July 2013, the SSE initiative and NYSE Euronext organized a special reception and closing bell ceremony to commemorate NYSE’s partnering with the SSE to promote sustainable capital markets. NYSE Euronext’s commitment signals the significance of sustainability to the private sector globally.

In remarks delivered at the New York Stock Exchange, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon commended the company for its commitment to improve the environmental, social and corporate governance performance of companies and promote sustainable investment.

Nigerian Stock Exchange joins SSE initiative

(29 October 2013) The Nigerian Stock Exchange is the latest exchange to have joined the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative, at a bilateral meeting with UNCTAD on the sidelines of this year’s annual conference of the World Federation of Exchanges, in Mexico City.

Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Chief Executive Officer Mr. Oscar Onyema pledged to promote sustainability among NSE-listed companies, at a bilateral meeting with Mr. James Zhan, Director of UNCTAD’s Division on Investment and Enterprise.

London Stock Exchange partners with United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative

LONDON, 2 June 2014 – The London Stock Exchange (LSE) Group today announced that it will partner with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative, joining nine other exchanges in the US, Europe, Africa and Asia to promote sustainable business practices among publicly listed companies worldwide.

Colombian Securities Exchange joins UN SSE initiative

Bogotá – The Colombian Securities Exchange (BVC for its Spanish initials) today announced that it will partner with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative. Colombia is now the second Latin American exchange to join the SSE, along with ten others from the US, Europe, Africa and Asia. This diversification enables shared learning, with sustainable business practices reaching greater parts of the world.

Deutsche Börse joins the UN SSE initiative

Frankfurt- Deutsche Börse has joined the United Nation’s Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative (SSE).

The aim of the initiative, founded by the UN Secretary-General in 2009, is to promote the collaboration of stock exchanges with investors, regulators and companies in order to enhance corporate transparency and commitment to environmental, social and corporate governance issues and to encourage sustainable investment.
