About the training

In June 2023, the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS) ushered in a new era of corporate sustainability-related disclosure to capital markets worldwide with the launch of IFRS S1, “General Requirements for Sustainability-related Financial Information” and IFRS S2 “Climate-related Disclosures.” The IFRS Sustainability Standards were developed by the International Sustainability Standards Board (“ISSB”). Due to the important governing role for overseeing sustainability-related
risks and opportunities and public disclosures thereof, this interactive workshop provides practical tips and tools to help board directors confidently and effectively oversee these disclosures.

The training workshop was developed with support from the IFC, through the World Bank Group SDG Partnership Fund.

Training Format

  • Hosted by SSE Partner Exchanges
  • Facilitated by experts from the UN SSE, IFRS Foundation and Chapter Zero
  • Delivered online with interactive activities and direct interaction with expert facilitators
  • Q&A open for live interaction throughout the training
  • Training includes 90min of live facilitation and 15 min of optional Q&A
  • Certified by CPD UK

  • Board Chairs
  • Company Secretaries
  • General Council
  • Audit Committee Members
  • C-Suit Executives
  • Prospective Board Members

The training workshop includes step-by-step practical guidance and provides tools and resources, including the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative Model Guidance on Board Oversight of ISSB-Aligned Reporting.
