Commodity Markets and Energy Transition Expert Group

The Expert Group will provide a dedicated platform for peer learning, exchange of practice, and informed dialogue on how commodity markets can support a credible net-zero transition.

Convened by the UN SSE and in collaboration with S&P Global, the group will bring together stock exchanges, regulators, and market participants to explore market developments, identify challenges, and share practical insights on the role of commodities in supporting the transition to low- and zero-emissions energy systems.

The objective of this group is to identify and overcome market-structure problems across emerging and evolving commodity and environmental markets associated with the transition to low- and zero-emissions forms of energy. The discussions and any written contributions within this group will take place under the Chatham House Rules and help to inform a Whitepaper publication in Q4 2027.
