About the advisory group

Did you know that nature underpins many of the risks and opportunities in today’s markets? For example:

  • Is your data centre cooled by water?
  • Do parts of your market rely on agriculture, forests, or the ocean?
  • Could supply chain disruptions in nature-sensitive sectors affect your listed companies or investors?

If these questions resonate, you may want to consider joining the new UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) - TNFD Advisory Group on Nature, which we plan to formally launch in mid-March.

The Advisory Group is designed to help exchanges like yours address nature-related dependencies, impacts, and risks across capital markets. By participating, you can:

  • Share your insights and experiences with peers from exchanges around the world.
  • Take a first step in understanding and addressing nature-related risks and opportunities
  • Help shape practical, voluntary actions that exchanges can implement to integrate nature considerations into their operations and markets.

Participation is flexible, voluntary, and requires no financial commitment. Members may nominate a representative to join working-level meetings, provide feedback, and help draft the new Action Plan for Exchanges. All outputs are informational and designed to support action—not create obligations.

Register here to join the SSE-TNFD Advisory Group on Nature:

Your perspective could be invaluable in shaping how exchanges and markets manage nature-related risks and opportunities. Even if you don’t consider yourself a “nature expert,” your experience in capital markets is exactly what can make this work effective and actionable.

Timeline

  • 24 March: Kick-off with a zero draft and first Advisory Group meeting.
  • Between March and August: Drafting and written feedback consultation (approx. 2 rounds)
  • October 19–30, 2026: Planned launch of the Action Plan at the upcoming Bio COP in Yerevan, Armenia.
