SSE partner exchanges are invited to participate in the inaugural Ring the Bell for World Children's Day, a new global initiative led by the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative and UNICEF to mark World Children's Day on 20 November.
Each year, more than 100 stock exchanges participate in UN SSE Ring the Bell events, using their unique convening power to highlight issues that matter for sustainable capital markets. Ring the Bell for World Children's Day is the newest global campaign in the series, inviting exchanges to highlight the important role capital markets can play in advancing children's wellbeing.
The inaugural campaign coincides with the forthcoming launch of the UN SSE–UNICEF Model Guidance on Applying a Child-Lens to Business Practices, providing practical recommendations for issuers to identify, manage and disclose child-related impacts, risks and opportunities. Whether your exchange is already active on this topic or just beginning this journey, we encourage you to join this first global campaign and help demonstrate the important role capital markets can play in creating a better future for every child.
When?
Exchanges are invited to ring an Opening or Closing Bell either in the days leading up to, or on 20 November 2026 (World Children’s Day).

Why Participate?
Hosting a Ring the Bell event provides exchanges with an opportunity to:
- Demonstrate leadership on a critical sustainability topic: children’s wellbeing
- Convene issuers, investors, regulators, market participants and civil society on a topic everyone supports
- Raise awareness and foster dialogue on how capital markets can contribute to better outcomes for children
- Showcase your exchange's commitment to building resilient markets that support future generations
- Global recognition: all participating exchanges will be listed on the SSE website page covering the global campaign.
Support for Participating Exchanges
The UN SSE initiative and UNICEF will support participating exchanges by providing:
- Connection with local UNICEF Country Office (who can help you organize guest speakers)
- Communications materials
- Event guidance
- Promotional resources
- Introductions to UN Global Compact Country Networks and PRI local networks (where available)
