This report was developed by the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (UN SSE) initiative in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and with the support of the Government of Luxembourg.
This SSE Market Monitor analyses gender equality disclosure metrics recommended by stock exchanges and corporate reporting standard setters, based on a review of 38 stock exchange guidance documents and three key standard-setting frameworks (Part 1). It benchmarks these metrics against the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and assesses consistency in how similar metrics are defined across sources. Part 2 draws on roundtable discussions with standard setters and other institutions to provide recommendations for improving the quality and scope of gender equality disclosure metrics.
Stock exchanges are invited to contact the SSE for further discussions or any questions about the report.
