Exchange Type - Stock

Selecting this option filters to include global stock exchanges.
A stock exchange is a marketplace where securities such as stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments are bought and sold. These exchanges provide a regulated environment for companies to raise capital and for investors to trade shares.


Exchange Type - Derivative

Selecting this option filters to include global derivative exchanges.
A derivative exchange is a marketplace where standardized contracts such as futures and options are traded. These contracts derive their value from underlying assets like stocks, commodities, or indices and are used for hedging risk or speculative purposes.


Member Status - Active

Selecting this option filters to include exchanges that are considered active SSE members.
An exchange is considered active if, in the most recent reporting year, it met at least two of the following criteria:

For Stock Exchanges:

  • Publishes a sustainability report
  • Requires ESG reporting as a listing rule
  • Provides ESG reporting guidance to the market
  • Offers ESG-related training
  • Has a sustainability-related index or bond listing segment
  • Operates an SME platform
  • Enforces a mandatory minimum for female board members
  • Is recognized as an SSE Official Supporter

For Derivative Exchanges:

  • Publishes a sustainability report
  • Requires sustainability reporting for listed products
  • Provides written ESG reporting guidance
  • Offers sustainability-aligned products
  • Offers ESG-related training
  • Is recognized as an SSE Official Supporter

Member Status - Inactive

Selecting this option filters to include exchanges that are considered inactive SSE members.
An exchange is considered inactive if, in the most recent reporting year, it did not meet at least two of the following criteria outlined in the Active Member Status definition above.

Through financial contributions, they support the SSE’s mission to build sustainable markets, share best practices, and provide tools, training, and technical assistance to exchanges and capital market stakeholders.

Additional - Net Zero Member

Net Zero Members are exchanges that are part of the Net Zero Exchange Group, a working group under the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance, coordinated by the UN SSE. These members have made public commitments to achieve net zero emissions and are in the process of reporting their progress.
