The UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative welcomes Bolsa de Valores de El Salvador (BVES). BVES has solidified its commitment to transparency and sustainability by becoming a partner exchange of the UN SSE initiative. The newest partner joins a network of over 130 exchanges around the world that are committed to promoting sustainable development.
The SSE works with exchanges through technical assistance, consensus building, and research to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to stimulate investment for a sustainable future. Exchanges around the world partner with the SSE to work towards a common objective of fostering financial markets that support the growth of sustainable and responsible business practices.
Mr. Valentín Arrieta, CEO of BVES, said "At the Bolsa de Valores de El Salvador, we consider corporate social and environmental responsibility as a fundamental pillar within our business model, as it integrates guidelines to improve the conditions of our employees, the community and environmental care. Aware of this, we are committed to building a work strategy that will lead us down the path of sustainable development, seeking a synergy between economic, social and environmental progress. Our first step has been to join the Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative (SSE), with whom we will work hand in hand as of today.”
